HLA RSCA Typer 1.0 Software

• High resolution HLA typing

• Requires only one PCR that can be stored for re-analysis

• Simple and rapid method requires only 30 minutes for PCRv set-up, 30 minutes for gel casting, and a few minutes for HLA assignment

• New allele discoveries do not require kit changes—they are handled by HLA RSCA Typer Software updates

The RSCA method consists of the following steps.

1. An amplification of an HLA class of interest;

2. Part of the amplified DNA is then mixed with two or three reference strands and denatured;

3. After re-annealing and heteroduplex formation, fragment analysis is performed using a non-denaturing gel on ALFexpress II.

4. HLA assignment is made automatically using the new RSCA HLA Typer software together with ALFwin™ Fragment Analyser.

Amersham Pharmacia Biotech and Pel-Freez Clinical Systems, LLC announce an exciting new collaboration to bring you high-resolution sequence based HLA typing with ease, accuracy and convenience: Reference Strand-Mediated Conformation Analysis (RSCA) on ALFexpress II DNA Analysis System.
