TYPHOON: DESIGNED FOR DIGE

Typhoon™ is a highly sensitive variable-mode gel imager that meets the exacting demands of 2-D DIGE technology, offering premium performance and quality. The Typhoon 9400 series unites the ability to detect an extensive variety of fluors with proven storage phosphor autoradiography technology and direct imaging of chemiluminescence.

Powerful excitation sources and innovative high quality confocal optics allow you to sensitively detect low expression targets. The Imager delivers outstanding linearity, quantitative accuracy and extremely low limits of detection. Automated multicolor scanning permits detection of multiple samples in the same experiment, which ensures accuracy of analysis and increased throughput. Typhoon is optimized to image the CyDye™ DIGE Fluor minimal dye characteristics.

High sensitivity
Typhoon with the CyDye Fluor minimal dyes gives the high sensitivity required for 2-D DIGE. Extremely low limits of detection on all of your samples means you can obtain useful data you might normally have had to discard, as well as accurately quantifying very low level signals. The system enables the detection of small differences with the highest statistical confidence.

High flexibility
In addition to 2-D DIGE, Typhoon can also be used for DNA, RNA, and other protein applications. When one of the five scanning modes is selected, the appropriate optical components are automatically activated. Typhoon exhibits outstanding linearity and quantitative accuracy, and includes ImageQuant™ image analysis software for Windows
® 2000.

Typhoon 9400: the facts
Optimally detects Cy2TM, Cy3, and Cy5: enables three differently labeled samples to be visualized on a single gel (one of them being the internal pooled standard)
Exceptional signal-to-noise: increases the numbers of statistically significant differences in protein expression that can be detected.
Consistent point light illumination: produces high-quality uniform images and reduces photo bleaching.
Can view sequential images: see differences immediately.
Positions gels correctly with convenient gel alignment guides: simplifies gel handling and reduces hands-on time.

Allows simultaneous imaging of two large format Ettan™ DALT gels automatically and generates separate file outputs.
Gels are scanned between glass plates, preventing drying and shrinkage, and allowing further running and rescanning if required.
