Select-a-bead kit
Unsure of which bead to use? Try the select-a-bead kit. A selection of five SPA
bead types suitable for receptor binding, all in small pack sizes,
for quick and convenient assay development.

Streptavidin Beads
The high affinity of streptavidin for biotin or biotinylated species makes streptavidin an invaluable tool for a wide variety of assay applications.

Protein A Beads
The protein A SPA bead is designed primarily for use in RIA applications; particularly when the primary antibody is of rabbit, mouse, or guinea pig origin.

SPA Scintillation Beads - general research

SPA Scintillation beads are microspheres containing scintillant which emit light in the blue region of the visible spectrum. As a result, these beads are ideally suited to use with photomultiplier tube (PMT) counters such as the TopCountTM or MicroBetaTM.

Two types of core SPA Scintillation bead are available – yttrium silicate (YSi) and Polyvinyltoluene (PVT). A number of biological coatings also exist for each core bead type to enable receptor binding, kinase, molecular interaction and radioimmunoassays to be investigated.
