Butyl Sepharose High Performance for high resolution HIC
Butyl Sepharose™ High Performance is a new member of the HIC media portfolio. Butyl Sepharose High Performance is for purification and polishing by HIC when high resolution is required and is based on highly cross-linked, beaded agarose with a mean particle diameter of 34µm. This ensures high mechanical strength, allowing high flow rates, and high chemical stability. Butyl Sepharose High Performance offers:
- High recovery of pure proteins and peptides.
- High resolution even at high flow rates and high sample loadings
- Hydrophilic and protein friendly base matrix ensuring maintained activity of proteins and peptides.
- High chemical stability which allows harsh cleaning-in-place (CIP) and sanitization procedures
Butyl Sepharose High Performance is available in HiTrap™ columns, as lab-packs or in BioProcess™ quantities with support for production-scale chromatography.

HiTrap HIC Selection Kit
HiTrap HIC Selection Kit now includes Butyl Sepharose High Performance. By offering a broader choice HIC media for small-scale screening, it is easier to select the most suitable medium to take full advantage of hydrophobic interaction chromatography.
- HiTrap HIC Selection Kit includes seven HIC media with different hydrophobic characteristics for small-scale media screening and selection.
- Flexible design for use with syringes, single laboratory pump, ÄKTAdesign™, or FPLC™ System.
- High flow rates and high capacities.
- Media prepacked in 5 × 1-ml or 5 × 5-ml HiTrap5 columns, larger HiPrep™ columns, and in lab packs for easy scale-up.
The kit includes HiTrap 1-ml columns containing the following media: Phenyl Sepharose High Performance, Butyl Sepharose High Performance, Phenyl Sepharose 6 Fast Flow (low sub), Phenyl Sepharose 6 Fast Flow (high sub), Butyl-S Sepharose 6 Fast Flow, Butyl Sepharose 4 Fast Flow, and Octyl Sepharose 4 Fast Flow.
