Filtration Systems
The UniFlux™ series of membrane separation filtration systems are controlled by UNICORN™ software for full automation of the entire cross flow process. The systems are built on portable skids for flexibility and are intended for pilot through production-scale biological separations.
UniFlux series systems are:
- Available in four standard sizes capable of processing batches of < 5 - 10,000+ liters of feed material.
- Configured to operate hollow fiber cartridges ideal for microfiltration applications or cassettes for ultrafiltration or microfiltration applications.
- Available with a range of standard add-on options for all four system sizes, including: UV sensor on permeate, permeate flow control/diafiltration flow control, and filter configuration conversion kits.
- Capable of being customized to any application and/or component needs.
The UniFlux series offers:
- Easy scale-up from ÄKTAcrossflow™ to UniFlux, or any membrane separation scale.
- Sanitary design to ensure GMP compliance.
- Flexible design for easy conversion between hollow fiber cartridges and cassettes.
- High reproducibility.
- UNICORN (21 CFR part 11 compliant) software for online measurement and control.
- A high level of automation to save operator time and avoid human error.

Custom System Capabilities:
Our Custom Bioprocess Solutions (CBS) group offers customers the ability to work with us to design, build and automate a system which will meet their specific needs should their requirements exceed the capabilities of the standard UniFlux systems, listed above. Examples of such customer requirements include, but are not limited to:
- SIP (Steam in place) Design and operation.
- Autoclavable design (for autoclavable Hollow Fiber membrane applications).
- Customer standard instrumentation requirements.
- Space restrictions - systems can be built in a modular fashion and assembled at customer's site.
- Larger capacity systems to offer customers the ability to process larger batches in shorter cycles.
