There are two distinct types of membrane:
- Unsupported, where the active substrate is present as a cast sheet
- Supported, where the active substrate is present and cast on to an inert 'web' or support
- All GE Healthcare Hybond membranes are identical on each side. Therefore, it does not matter which side you use
